A summary of the book is below:
Forty years ago, most Americans said they didn’t know anyone who was homosexual and claimed to know little or nothing about homosexuality. Today, there’s hardly a sitcom without a prominent gay character, movies like Milk and Brokeback Mountain have won Oscars, and even People Magazine celebrated the marriage of Ellen Degeneres and Portia DeRossi. Forty years ago, the word “queer” was considered to be an extremely insulting, ugly slur. Today, we have books like Queering Elementary Education and The Queer Bible Commentary, while Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was a cable TV sensation and even school children are learning the meaning of “Gender Queer.” Forty years ago, people were fired from their jobs for being gay. Today, college professors have been fired for taking issue with same-sex practice, counselors have been dismissed for refusing to affirm gay and lesbian relationships, and even pastors have been arrested for saying that homosexual behavior was sinful.
A Queer Thing Happened to America chronicles the amazing transformation of America over the last forty years, literally, from Stonewall Inn to the White House, and addresses the question head-on: Is there really a gay agenda, or is it a fiction of the religious right? Written in a lively and compelling style, but backed with massive research and extensive interaction with the GLBT community, this forthright and yet compassionate book looks at the extraordinary impact gay activism has had on American society – from nursery school to college, from the pulpit to Hollywood, and from science to semantics – also analyzing the foundational arguments of the gay civil rights movement and exposing the extreme intolerance of those calling for tolerance. This could easily be the most controversial book of the decade. Read it and find out why the publishing world was afraid to touch it.

first of all , the real drag queen would have shaved her legs, and not worn those ugly socks withy those pretty peep toes, this book looks interesting.
I am very glad to see Dr. Brown a man I admire stand up for God’s truth. But, that is not unusual for him. If Christians can’t see what is happening in our world maybe they aren’t spending enough time in the word. In these end times we should be a lot more willing to promote God’s truth and not the world’s. Praise God
According to recent studies soy can be blamed in part for the queering of America. Soy used in baby formulas has been found to mess up the hormones and testosterone of babies.
“In fetal development, the default is being female. All humans (even in old age) tend toward femininity. The main thing that keeps men from diverging into the female pattern is testosterone, and testosterone is suppressed by an excess of estrogen.
If you’re a grownup, you’re already developed, and you’re able to fight off some of the damaging effects of soy. Babies aren’t so fortunate. Research is now showing that when you feed your baby soy formula, you’re giving him or her the equivalent of five birth control pills a day. A baby’s endocrine system just can’t cope with that kind of massive assault, so some damage is inevitable. At the extreme, the damage can be fatal.
Soy is feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality. That’s why most of the medical (not socio-spiritual) blame for today’s rise in homosexuality must fall upon the rise in soy formula and other soy products. (Most babies are bottle-fed during some part of their infancy, and one-fourth of them are getting soy milk!) Homosexuals often argue that their homosexuality is inborn because “I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t homosexual.” No, homosexuality is always deviant. But now many of them can truthfully say that they can’t remember a time when excess estrogen wasn’t influencing them.

Adam,
Should be available in a month or two.
@Dan if you’re saying that the research on Soy is nonsense then you might want to read some of these. Soy raises estrogen levels. What do little baby boys need with elevated estrogen levels?

Kathleen, no thanks not interested. Science test stuff says one thing then comes back later and reverses themselves. I follow the Lord and His word, thats enough. If you want real dietary advice look at the old testament. Much of whats in there is still appropriate today. Take care.
You cannot ignore, that more than ever there are numerous of Movies, shows, cable shows, books, etc. All dealing with the issues of Gay, Lesbian, Transgender. These issues has erupted, and you forget about puttung it to sleep. Christains, true Christians will not be afraid to proclaim the love of God, and that God is a healer. God would have not allowed anyone to be born gay, in order for them to spend their eternal life in hell. The word of God is true, and it will come to pass. Satan knows his time is just about up. Therefore satan is trying to take as many people with him as he can. The Lord Jesus is a redeemer, and YOU can be transformed into a new creature, allow the past sins to be in the past. What God calls sin is sin. And deliverance, is available to all, who ask. Seek the Lord while he may be found.
Amen Victoria, God bless
Thanks Dan, As a Messianic Jew I eat Kosher. Can’t find a thing in the Bible anywhere that says eat soy. It’s been proven to damage thyroids cause obesity and so much more.
Although I have never heard of this man until yesterday on the Church channel….the fact that his book cover shows a negative stereotypical photo that brings to rememberance phrases like “a little light in the loafers” speaks volumes about what “research” or “historical” commentary is found inside. I know you are not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover…but this says so much about the author’s respect (or lack thereof) for different kinds of people…whether you agree or not with who they are.
If we go around looking for sin it usually means we can’t see our own. I am not on a crusade to “get” homosexuals, Neither am I looking for adulterers, thief’s or anyone else who breaks what God has set
down as a His standards.
But to make excuses for somebody breaking His laws, will not stand when the Judgment comes. One thing well meaning Christians seem to forget that God doesn’t change. The same yesterday, today and forever. If that were not true we couldn’t trust Him. So, this isn’t a thing that I just want to condemn, but the truth, that I stand by. God’s truth! because human truth can be very flawed or at the very least misguided.
You can make all the scientific evidence you wish, but if it goes against God’s word, It’s a lie.
Sickness such as cancer is against the will of God’s original plan for humanity and is ultimately the result of human sin. You may not agree with this, but just as no one chooses to have cancer, no one that I have met chooses to be a homosexual. Do black, white, asian and other races get to “choose” who they are? Sin is sin and this is true. The law is there to show us our how flawed we really are and show us the urgent need for salvation. And until Christ returns and perfects our physical human nature to reflect our reborn inner spiritman, we have to live with these effects of what sin does to people and to this beautiful planet. Sin is missing the mark, PERIOD, in whatever we do in life. I tire of seeing obese evangelicals who condemn homosexuals everyday for their so called unnatural “lifestyle”. Is that pastor blind to the fact that he should also be judged as having an unhealthy “lifestyle” to be so morbidly obese? Jesus said that whoever was without sin should throw stones, and that we should not judge because we will in the same manner be judged. I don’t want to walk in the shoes of Mr. Brown whether they are brown loafers or pink slippers with flamigo feathers. I am thankful for a Savior who is stronger than sin, and strong to save ALL .
Diane, trying to lump somebody’s race in with sin is just nonsense. Sin is the result of Adam breaking the covenant with God. Because of that, it brought the knowledge of evil into existence. That will all be here until Christ returns and at the end of time as we know it. When the New Heaven and New Earth become…
You worrying about an “obese” paster pointing something out doesn’t make any difference. Sin is sin, but you like so many others seem to want to make excuses. Well go ahead tell us all that just because someone is fat, or tells lies, or commits any other sin, that we shouldn’t confront anything. Please stop using that “judge not least you be judged” line, you like so many others take it out of context. Jesus was talking about people who condemn others for doing things they themselves were doing. Yes I know don’t cast stones, well ok lets all sing “We are the World” and please can’t we all just get along [Rodney King}. Until then God calls homosexuality an abomination, you can of course call it anything you’d like.
And so ends the conversation…
Yet the confusion prevails, that advocacing “homosexual rights” equates with the roots of the civil rights movement. Even our President is confused on this one.
I put a purchase in for this book. It will be interesting.
