Defeat California’s Senate Bill 48

From an E-Mail sent by Lou Engle’s TheCall on April 12th:

Abraham Lincoln said, “The philosophy of the classroom in one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next.” Regarding Senate Bill 48, the next few weeks will decide what California students will learn, which according to Lincoln will guide the thinking of our future government. As Gettysburg was considered the high water mark of the civil war, this very well could be the Gettysburg of American education regarding the issue of homosexuality.

This bill will affect nine million children and parents in public schools. The implications of this one bill are monumental and I believe the voice of the churches must be heard in this critical hour.

What is Senate Bill 48?

ConcernedParentsUnited.com explains:

“California Senate Bill number 48, now tracking its way through the legislature, would change the teaching of core academic subjects into a ‘celebration’ of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual lifestyles. This profound change in the basic education of children would be mandatory, without involvement or opt-out rights of parents.”

What is at stake?

SB 48 still passed the Senate Education Committee but there’s still time to stop this bill in the assembly and senate that SaveCalifornia.com calls “the worst school sexual indoctrination ever,” forcing nine million California children to learn about homosexuality at an early age with no opt-out rights for parents.

What is most alarming about this bill is that if it passes, parents will have no rights over what their children learn in public schools regarding their sexuality. This is total discrimination against religious liberties and parents’ rights to teach their children morals.

Furthermore, Dr. Miriam Grossman, an author and child psychiatrist for over 20 years, presented well-researched evidence that introducing elementary and junior high school students to homosexuality will cause gender confusion and misidentification as a homosexual because they are still in the stage of gender and identity formation.

Also, because California is the largest consumer of textbooks, what goes into California’s textbooks will most likely go into the rest of the nation’s textbooks. This could effect what all public schools will teach across the nation!

ConcernedParentsUnited.com goes on to say:

“What we all do, or fail to do, in the next few weeks will determine whether or not California’s school children will be subject to homosexual textbooks and curriculum for years to come! Your help is needed to fight this bill every step of the way at every committee hearing and every vote.”

Three steps to stop SB 48

1. Please pray that God would do a miracle and stop the passage of this bill.

2. If you are a California resident and you want to stop this bill, please go to the following website to let your representatives know your stance. It only takes a minute: http://capwiz.com/legislativecenter/issues/alert/?alertid=27189501

3. It is vitally important for us to vote and put those who will truly represent us into office. If we don’t vote, we won’t be represented, period.

  1. Sexual preference is very personal issue. Why do you want the whole world to approve your choice is right or wrong ? Doesn’t it mean you know in deep heart it is wrong ? So that you want the whole world to say yes ?

  2. This is a waste of tax payers money.. Our schools are struggling as it is (teacher layoffs, overcrowding, not enough finances to keep certain programs going i.e. sports, music, drama. It is just an oipinion of the homosexuals and not everyones. Everyone (families and students) should not have to be subject to such an immoral ideal. It is immoral and would be an abomination and embarassment to our school systems. I personally would enroll my child in private school or have him/’her home schooled to avoid the distorted message you propose to teach.; If everyone feels this way (I know alot of people who do) where would schools be without attendence????????????

  3. No one is imposing anything and this is where you start to come off as ignorant. You cannot deny that gay and lesbian people, whether you like it or not, have made an impact on our country’s history. No one is saying gay is okay, When school’s teach WW2, they arent promoting Nazism, When they teach the cold war, they arent promoting communism. It’s possible to teach a lsmall section on the history of gay people without making it a huge deal. So please, calm the “distorted message” talk and try this: read something about it yourself. see what your kid could take away from this. I’m sure the week they will spend on this in school won’t be “Gay sex and their bedroom activities.” It’ll be something much more meaningful and historically relevant than that and your child can form their OWN opinion on that instead of having you form it for them. The Lord did give them the gift of free will for a reason and if they choose to love their brothers and sisters unconditionally, we should all learn that innocence from judgment as well.

  5. From the article, “Dr. Miriam Grossman, an author and child psychiatrist for over 20 years, presented well-researched evidence that introducing elementary and junior high school students to homosexuality will cause gender confusion and misidentification as a homosexual because they are still in the stage of gender and identity formation”.

Allen, it seems that you have missed the point. This is an age relevant, identity formation issue. It is not a civil rights history matter. Requiring such study, as the Dr. stated, “causes gender confusion” in formative years. It is simply inappropriate for the age group. As would be certain heterosexual information emphases for the age group.

It is certain that the Dr. did not perceive what would be taught as mere historical information. Like it or not, her conclusion is a professional conclusion, not a gender confusion advocacy or non-advocacy statement. It is one thing to offer such information as an elective possibility among post high school students, and quite another to put this agenda in an already challenging adolescent mix of stressors, pressures, social, political, gender, and existential identity emergence.

  6. STOP SB 48
    Hello,
This email has a link http://iput.it/6383ef to a 23 page
article entitled: “The World Rule Conspiracy”.
And although this article is primarily nationalistic, it
should be read by everyone involved in the Stop SB 48
campaign…because it does the best job, so far, of
explaining the WHO and the WHY of the current drive to
spread homosexuality here in the United States and
    throughout the world.
Please read it and distribute it.
    Thank you

  7. It’s discrimination to force parents to send their children to school and have them be subject to such perversion. It could be an added class (opt) such as home ecomonics, wood shop, mjusic, auto, etc., but to make it MANDATORY.

  8. what gives a few people the right to decide that it is normal to be gay and that even little kids in school
should be taught about something that totally goes against nature! This is perversion! Remember Sodom and
Gomorrah! I will reemphasize what someone stated earlier, we don’t even teach kids about heterosexualithy
at that young age. If you are so convinced your are right, then it should at least be allowed to be put to a
democratic vote, not shoved down people’s throats.
