What is called “prophetic” today, in most cases, is just a super spiritual encouragement session. We look at each other, see some sort of picture and then turn it into some type of encouraging word. I am not against this, but it is so far removed from the prophets burden. Jason Upton, “Raise up a prophetic generation that is not about the future, fortune or fame of man, but about the feelings of your heart.” I remember Dr. Michael L. Brown talking about the prophetic office, he said, “The prophet is an alarm clock. Most people don’t love their alarm clocks.”
Where are these men today? David Wilkerson has passed on. Leonard Ravenhill has been gone for years. Where are those whose intimacy with Jesus, births a burning burden that gushes out of their heart to see the church wholly given over to God? We must always remember that there is an extreme difference between a prophetic gift and the office of a prophet. A prophet is the visible expression of the heart of God. He is God’s heart walking around on the earth. This is a heavy call, many have started, but they end up stopping short or veering off into some social justice, trend or more cutting edge message to lighten their load because it is too heavy to consistently carry. Intern, they end up becoming something partial. This has never accomplished God’s desires. Standing up against social things is no substitute for a quick word from the counsel of the most high.
Prophets, RISE UP!!
Let your intimacy with Jesus be your pregnancy. Live in prayer. Then say whatever He tells you. I tell you that only His ecstasy will tap you into His agony and only His agony will take you low enough in prayer to produce life and quicken you with His words.
Listen to this short Clip from the movie JEREMIAH. I think it is a prophetic call to the modern church of America.
I think it’s interesting as to the nature of what a New Covenant prophet looks like. From Matthew to Revelation, we see a different type of prophet than, of course an Old Covenant prophet. We see the prophetic scripturally as being cultural. John the Baptist is the LAST of the OT prophets (Matthew 11:11-13). Now, the office prophet is for training the entire body in the prophetic. Now, the office prophet is for, under right apostolic covering, aligning the body of Christ (Ephesians 4). Also, for releasing the apostolic (Acts 13). Agabus was shown a world-wide famine, but it was never connected to the judgment of God. Our precious prophets like Wilkerson and Ravenhill are not gone, they leave legacy to a prophetic culture. This “heavy burden” of the heart of God now rests on the body of Christ instead of one man. The office prophet now imparts the heart of God to the church. One man prophets of the OT are now one Body prophets of the NT. Just my 2 cents.
“Now, the office prophet is for, under right apostolic covering, aligning the body of Christ (Ephesians 4). Also, for releasing the apostolic (Acts 13). ” Can you please unpack this for a reader who does not follow these statements?
“Just days before the horrific terrorist attacks that struck Norway on Friday, Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere hinted it would support a unilateral Palestinian bid at the UN to be fully recognized as a state this September.
On Monday [July 18], Norway’s foreign minister Jonas Gahr Stoere, following a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, suggested Oslo may be inclined back the Palestinian bid, saying it was ‘perfectly legitimate’ for the Palestinians to seek a vote on statehood,” (reports UN political blog Turtle Bay). Debate starts in the General Assembly on the matter on July 26th. Norway has accepted an ambassador from the Palestinian Authority since 2006, now with full diplomatic recognition. It is lining up with over 100 nations supporting the September move by the PA and Hamas, as well as the so-called third world block. The recent positions of North Korea and Iran appointed in the UN structure have been empowered in the very areas which these nations defy the UN Charter. Most western nations are simply glancing shoulder to shoulder for the first ones to vote for Partition Statehood, in order to fooolow suit.
The US is on the edge of an alike position as Norway as to voting for a Palestinian State at the UN. Our State Department recently made public appeals to have “dialogue with the Muslim Brotherhood.” The love-hate-love relationship with Pakistan is verring out of grasp. We are negotiating with the Taleban who housed the perpetrators of 9-11. Syria continues to shoot its citizens by the thousands. Egypt has invited back and included Brotherhood clerics of the party which shot Sadat. Turkey will move to indite the IDF officers which led the resistance to the first Gaza Flotilla soon. Evil is supported as good, good as evil.
The crown Prince and Princess of Norway, breaking with the tradition of the State Church (which it moved recently to sever from official association with the Nation), which bows its knee to Jesus Christ, have New Age Philosophies and superstitions. Norway, like the USA, has a Bible Belt, a strong Christian tradition woven into its own foundations, and many intercessing for the social political trends now step by step erroding family life there for the new morality (which have taken steps to equalizing the Homosexual agenda by permitting such “marriages” believed as of equal human rights with those of procreating families, and other long vested Norwegian clans). Norway, like here and most other western nations, has lost its mooring for a peaceable and quiet life.
Prophets forthtell. The Biblical prophets of old have, and do foretell what is ahead for the regathered nation as to the final events of these last days.
Although the perpetrator of the recent attacks on the government buildings, administration, and political teenage idealists waited “nine years” to murderously act, his dark motivations, he claims, are related to flesh and blood resistance of the direction his Nation was taking in its embrace of multiculturalism and Muslim representation in his country. He claims to be a Christian Fundamentalist. Christ taught that he who takes up the sword will die by the sword. Yet why was Norway so vulnerable, as we were pre 9-11?
Was the Norwegian drift since the Oslo accords, toward armchair idealism about the Palestinian players in the middle east conflict–while publicly holding that Israel had not moved in a similar direction as Norway–while removing support of Israel in the process, somehow related to its vulnerability to such an attack???
The police and Norwegian intelligence were found not prepared for what occurred, believers there are also mourning.
I am new to this site and have only just begun to read some of these articles.
I am not a theologean, nor am I a Dr. or a scholor, or an Apostle, I have not been taught by men. But to say that there is no Old Covenant Prophet, I can only assume that you are niether one nor know one.
This weight that one carries burns within the soul of a man according to the very heart of God by the Spirit, and drives to the knees in great agony, grief, and sorrow for what we have become as a people.
If I may speak for a moment, we have become people haters. Tearing one another apart, ripping away at those who are the called. We complain about everything, never satisfied with what the Lord has, and is, doing at the present. We speak long sermons about the delivering power of the Lord (not living it) and then put into bondage, again, the same people. My heart breaks for this people and Nation for what we have become.
There are false teachers, erred doctrine’s, deception for gain, inmorality void of ethics, all eating away at the heart of God, bringing much grief and vexation to him “who swear in his wrath they shall not enter my rest”.
Hear and listen, the Lord is Mighty and slow to anger, let us turn from that which brings sorrow of heart. Turn from that form of doctrine that is not mine, return unto me and I will restore and build up I will make you to stand tall above your fellows.
The heaviness of Spirit is even upon me now and daily bringing tears to the eyes from this burden. Jeremiah was told that the Lord had removed his yoke of wood by a man speaking supposedly by the mouth of God, only for Jeremiah to hear the true Word saying that in place of the wooden yoke this man would recieve to himself a yoke of iron.
The burden cannot be replaced by men, they have not given it. Man can niether give or take this office unto themselves, it is ordained and given to one by God. Most people say they want to hear the Word of the Lord, but when spoken they hate the vessel by which it was delivered, and the Word itself.
The word was let the Prophets arise ! I say let the people have an ear and desire to hear / do what Saith the Lord, for if we will listen we will hear them speaking. If we will see, in the Spirit, (without respect of persons) , we will see the garments of the prophets, stained with the suffering servant pointing to Christ and his blessed return so long awaited. There is much that the voice of the Prophets need to say, not only in the warnings, but to the exortation and bringing in hope of the soon coming of Christ.
Let us draw near to him while he may be found. There are troublesome times ahead for this Nation and people who have so blatently turned their hearts from the Lord and have taken a somewhat perverted messege to the world.
Are there Pophets? Are they speaking now ? Look and listen and you will see and hear what Saith the Lord.
with love Ron.

Nest time I’ll run spell check, but fooolow seems more appropriate than follow. Others words too may be OK, considering.
