NEW YORK, Feb. 1 /Christian Newswire/ — The Christian Defense Coalition, Expectant Mother Care and Generation Life plan to gather outside of the CBS headquarters in New York City on Tuesday, February 2, at 12:15 P.M. to show their support for the CBS decision to air the Tim Tebow ad during the Super Bowl.

The location is 51 West 52nd Street (Corner of 6th Ave. and 52nd Street) in midtown Manhattan.

Participants will be praying for all the women who view the ad and are facing challenging pregnancies.

These groups join with hundreds of thousands of Americans who have signed petitions and joined on-line groups applauding the decision of CBS to air a pro-life ad featuring Tim Tebow and his mother Pam.

The pro-life organizations rip the National Organization for Women and other feminist groups who have shown disdain and open hostility toward women who chose to keep their children and refuse to have abortions. Their hysterical rants and anger over this ad of a woman simply sharing her own personal story to embrace life, shows these groups have no regard for either women or the concept of choice.

The pro-life organizations feel it is important to make a public show of support for CBS and thank them for not bowing to the pressure from fringe extremist groups that have little regard for women’s rights or human rights.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Washington, D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition, states:

“We applaud CBS for having the courage to televise this ad and not bow to the pressure from fringe extremist groups that have little regard for women’s rights or human rights.

“Our main purpose will be to pray for the thousands of women who view the ad and are facing challenging pregnancies. Our hope is they will embrace life and social justice and make the same compassionate decision that Pam Tebow made.

“The hysterical response of the Now Organization of Women and other feminist groups to this ad show they are neither for choice or women.”

Chris Slattery, Director of Expectant Mother Care in New York City, comments:

“Our organization works with women every day that face difficult and challenging pregnancies. In fact, we have saved 34,000 lives in the past 23 years.

“This life affirming ad by Pam and Tim Tebow brings a message of great hope and compassion to all women. Feminist anger over this ad supports what we have known about the so called pro-choice movement for years.

“That is, they have no regard for women or the dignity of life. Rather, they are consumed with an extremist value system that is both anti-women and anti-life.”

Brandi Swindell, Director of Generation Life, in Boise Idaho adds:

“This is not really a Tim Tebow ad but a Pam Tebow ad. It is the story of a woman who made a powerful choice to embrace life and human rights.

“It is an ad celebrating the power of women and the choices they make.

“The fact that the National Organization for Women and other pro-choice groups have so viciously attacked this ad shows their true agenda. That agenda is hostile to women and the choices they make.

“I applaud CBS for televising this ad and am stunned that groups would so attack a woman for choosing to keep their child. It is hard to believe that pro-choice groups would be so harsh and hateful to a woman who made a choice for life and justice.”

From the Christian Defense Coalition:

Do you believe 27 hours of prayer and worship can change history?

We do.

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” -Jeremiah 29:12-13

On Sunday, September 13, at 7:00 P.M. Christians will be gathering on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol for 27 hours of intercession and worship. Believers will be crying out for God to intervene in the national health care debate and ensure that taxpayer funds and not used to pay for abortions.

This marks the first full week that Congress is in session after the August recess.

If public monies are used to pay for abortions, it would add at least 25 years in our struggle to end abortion in America because abortion would then become an entitlement. It would also place our nation on a collision course with God’s judgment because every citizen will be subsidizing the crushing of human rights and social justice by paying for abortions. In other words, Christians would now be responsible for the shedding of innocent blood.

The future of our nation is at stake. It is time for the church to rise up and be a prophetic witness and powerful voice for justice.

We do not have to be helpless bystanders as events unfold on the world stage. But through intercession and worship, we can help change and shape history.

These 27 hours can change the future of our nation forever and help ignite a sovereign move of God that will bring spiritual awakening and cultural reformation to America. As we gather on the lawn of the Capitol in repentance and passion we believe that the Holy Spirit will move in a powerful way.

We have already seen God do amazing things as Christians gathered on Capitol Hill at the end of July to pray for a delay on the Health Care vote until after the August recess. Against all odds, God answered that prayer in a dramatic way and the vote was delayed. The Holy Spirit is now calling us back to prayer.

We prayerfully ask you to consider coming to Washington, D.C. to be a part of this historic 27 hours. It is imperative that the Church step of their apathy and indifference and into the purposes of God for this hour.

Schedule for September 13-14, 2009
at the West Lawn of the United States Capitol:

Sunday, September 13:
Prayer and worship begins at 7:00 P.M on the west lawn of the Capitol and continues until Monday at 10:00 P.M.

Monday, September 14:
Prayer and worship all day on the west lawn of the Capitol until 10:00 P.M.

—-

The following 6 classes will be held in the evenings and are free and open to the general public.

* June 15-18 – Only Genesis: The Basis to Interpret the Bible and Life (Taught by John C. Rankin)

Learn how the foundations for life and living are found in the book of Genesis from the founder and host of the Mars Hill Forum Series, where his goal is to provide freedom for the toughest questions of the Gospel to be posed in a hospitable and intellectually rigorous setting. Your perspectives will be dramatically changed by this course!

* June 22-25 – Reclaiming Godly Sexuality (Taught by Joe Dallas)

How is sexuality a discipleship issue? What are the physical, spiritual and emotional ramifications of stepping outside of Created Intent regarding human sexuality? Hear answers to these and other important questions from nationally recognized pastoral counselor Joe Dallas.

* June 29-July 2 – It’s Time to Rock the Boat (Taught by Michael L. Brown)

It is high time that we recover the message of Jesus and the apostles. Our compromised message has produced a compromised generation of believers, and only a return to the New Testament gospel, preached in the power of the Spirit, can turn the tide. Taught by the president of FIRE School of Ministry, this course will open your eyes and set your hearts ablaze for Jesus!

* July 6-9 – Cultural Apologetics (Taught by Frank Turek)

Surveys indicate that 80% of Christian young people fall away from the Lord within their first year in secular colleges, while nationally, less than 20% of born-again Christians hold to foundational biblical truths. This essential course, taught by leading apologist Frank Turek, will strengthen your faith, answer your questions, and equip you for effective witness.

* July 13-16 – Separation of Church and State (Taught by Joseph Infranco)

Christian students on campuses have been told they cannot publicly share their faith; atheists are taking legal action against the National Day of Prayer; the courts have decided that homosexual rights trump religious rights. This course, taught by senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund Joe Infranco, will give you an understanding of the real meaning of the separation of church and state.

* July 20-23 – Engaging Culture, Congress, and the Media (Taught by Patrick J. Mahoney)

How does the gospel intersect with culture? What is the church’s role in society? How can we take the gospel into the streets and into our communities? How can we influence Congress and the media? Pat Mahoney, who has been on the front lines of cultural engagement for more than twenty-five years, will provoke you to godly action and inspire you to rise up and change your world in the life and power of the Spirit.
