Read more about Yubelina, the Indonesian follower of Jesus pictured above who was badly burned after an attack by Muslims on her Christian Village, on the Persecution Blog and this post from a subscriber to the VOM newsletter:

Her skin is splotchy & ranges in color from light brown to red to white. Much of it is leathery. Her nose is disfigured. She has a purplish-colored patch of skin in between her bottom lip & the bottom of her chin. Her upper lip is peeling. Her left eye is white & red; her pupil is clearly no longer able to see.

But she is smiling. A huge smile. Joy radiates from her. Why?? She must receive stares. Children are probably afraid of her. The world would call her damaged. Ugly.

Yubelina has figured out where her identity lies. She is a treasured child of the King. She has traded “a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning” (Isa. 61:3). Her smile reveals Jesus.

Yubelina is beautiful. I guarantee she has a joy, a contentment, that no name-brand, trendy clothing; no perfect haircut & makeup; no flawless skin or toned body can bring.

True beauty…

The aftermath of a massive attack on Christians from radical Muslims in Nigeria is shown in the video and account below, from Voice of the Martyrs:

“Dr. Kim,” the director of VOMedical, has been a medical professional for more than three decades. He’s worked emergency rooms and performed autopsies. But none of the horrors he has encountered measures up to the devastation he found after radical Muslims attacked Dogo Nahawa and two other northern Nigerian villages last March.

Today we were able to see numerous patients at several hospitals. There were fewer gunshots and far more machete and knife wounds than I have seen in the past in northern Nigeria. It looks to me like the Muslims had sharpened their weapons before the attack, because the wounds on these folks were significantly deeper and more destructive than any of those I saw in January when Muslims attacked Christians in Jos. The epitome was a 4-year-old little girl whose left arm was slashed and amputated above the elbow.

From Compass Direct:

PUNE, India, October 29 (CDN) — After more than a decade of severe persecution, India’s Christian minority is growing increasingly concerned over the mushrooming of newer and deadlier Hindu extremist groups.

Gone are the days when Christians had to watch out only for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (World Hindu Council) and its youth wing, Bajrang Dal, which are closely linked with the most influential Hindu extremist umbrella organization, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). With voter support faltering for the RSS’s political wing, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), moderate and extremist sections within the Hindu nationalist movement are blaming each other, and militant splinter groups have emerged.

It has been confirmed that the murder this morning of a pro-life activist happened because of his prophetic witness to society concerning the murder of the unborn. According to LifeSiteNews:

Prosecutors said Drake told them he targeted Pouillon because of his pro-life activities.

“There was some displeasure with how open he was,” said … Shiawassee County chief assistant prosecutor Sara Edwards, according to a New York Times report. “He tended to carry big signs with very graphic pictures of fetuses.”

The murdered activist, Jim Pouillon, refused to declare “peace, peace when there is no peace,” instead exposing evil and trumpeting the righteous cause of protecting the innocent. Flip Benham, leader of Operation Save America, had this to say about the victim, and the meaning of his death:

We may have lost a fellow soldier in the cultural war that we are fighting, but it is a historical fact that the persecution of the Church emboldens Christians to stand for Jesus, no matter what the cost.

“We knew Jim as ‘Jim for Michigan’. Jim would often call and say ‘Hello Flip, this is Jim from Michigan’ and go on to tell of his most recent exploits for Jesus at the school, the abortion mill, the Governor’s Mansion or anywhere that he could stand up and be a voice for the babies. ‘I’d say, God bless you brother and Jim always answered, He already has, I got to talk to you today, brother’.” Flip Benham, director of Operation Save America.

Rev. Cal Zastrow, of Michigan, and one of Operation Save America’s leaders said of Jim, “Jim was a very peaceful man, against any type of violence. I was with Jim in the past when his life was threatened and he would just praise God in the midst of it. He got his martyr’s crown this morning!”.

We honor Jim Pouillon today. A faithful witness that died in the line of duty.

A pro-life activist affiliated with Operation Save America was shot and killed while holding up a “life” sign outside a Michigan high school. According to

An anti-abortion activist gunned down Friday morning in front of Owosso High School has been identified as James Lawrence Pouillon, 63, of Owosso.Pouillon was a longtime abortion protester, known for his highly vocal and visible public demonstrations around the community and even outside the state.

Longtime friend and fellow activist Judy Climer, president of Flint Right to Life, described Pouillon as “just a nice, elderly gentleman who was disabled, used an oxygen tank and wore leg braces.”

Climer said Pouillon had a regular weekly schedule of visits to abortion clinics in Flint and Saginaw, where he would park across the street and pray when abortions were allegedly being conducted.

“I knew him very well. He told me one time God put in his heart a passion for the little babies that have the right to be born and they were being denied that right,” said Climer, who said Pouillon often stopped at her office for coffee breaks as he drove from one location to another to demonstrate.

“He even told me once he’d be willing to die for that belief. That’s what I hear him saying right now.”

It occurred at 7:30am this morning (September 11th). A suspect is in custody (read more here).

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
