Jim Pouillon National High School Witness

CONCORD, NC, Nov. 19 /Christian Newswire/ — On Tuesday, November 24, 2009, gentle Christian warriors (in over 50 cities) will allow the theology of the church house to become biography at local high schools across our nation in honor of Jim Pouillon — America’s first Christian, pro-life martyr.  Jim was shot and killed on September 11, 2009, while ministering the Gospel of Christ outside the Owosso High School in Owosso, Michigan.  On Tuesday, November 24, Cal Zastrow will stand at the same exact spot where Jim was martyred.

Jim lived out God’s love for unborn babies every day of his life for the past twenty years.  He often said, “I am doing for the babies what my Lord did for me.”  Everyone in Owosso had seen him with his graphic signs.  His death proved the mettle of his words.

How soon abortion would end if those who claimed Christ lived like this.  On Tuesday, November 24, Christians will stand where Jim stood and be a voice for his beloved voiceless children.  We will proclaim the Gospel of Christ at the gates of hell just like he did.  It is our turn now!

As a result of Jim’s martyrdom, The New York Times went to Owosso and did a story on October 10, 2009, publishing the actual photos of babies killed by abortion.  It was amazing!  The Times did more to expose the horror of abortion in one day than pastors have done in the past thirty-six years.

Yes, The New York Times went to Owosso, Michigan, to find out why this grandfather would carry graphic pictures of living and aborted babies to the gates of hell for over twenty years.  Jim’s witness has gone far beyond anything he could have imagined in this life.

“Abortion in America is coming to an end!  It is our privilege and duty to push it over the cliff; bury it in a shallow grave and leave no marker to remind us of its savagery.”  Flip Benham, director Operation Save America.

It has been confirmed that the murder this morning of a pro-life activist happened because of his prophetic witness to society concerning the murder of the unborn. According to LifeSiteNews:

Prosecutors said Drake told them he targeted Pouillon because of his pro-life activities.

“There was some displeasure with how open he was,” said … Shiawassee County chief assistant prosecutor Sara Edwards, according to a New York Times report. “He tended to carry big signs with very graphic pictures of fetuses.”

The murdered activist, Jim Pouillon, refused to declare “peace, peace when there is no peace,” instead exposing evil and trumpeting the righteous cause of protecting the innocent. Flip Benham, leader of Operation Save America, had this to say about the victim, and the meaning of his death:

We may have lost a fellow soldier in the cultural war that we are fighting, but it is a historical fact that the persecution of the Church emboldens Christians to stand for Jesus, no matter what the cost.

“We knew Jim as ‘Jim for Michigan’. Jim would often call and say ‘Hello Flip, this is Jim from Michigan’ and go on to tell of his most recent exploits for Jesus at the school, the abortion mill, the Governor’s Mansion or anywhere that he could stand up and be a voice for the babies. ‘I’d say, God bless you brother and Jim always answered, He already has, I got to talk to you today, brother’.” Flip Benham, director of Operation Save America.

Rev. Cal Zastrow, of Michigan, and one of Operation Save America’s leaders said of Jim, “Jim was a very peaceful man, against any type of violence. I was with Jim in the past when his life was threatened and he would just praise God in the midst of it. He got his martyr’s crown this morning!”.

We honor Jim Pouillon today. A faithful witness that died in the line of duty.

Editor’s Note: Press Release from Flip Benham of Operation Save America regarding the Hate Crimes Bill

May 11, 2009

Using Violence to Silence the Gospel of Christ

Christian leaders from across the nation will gather in Washington, D.C., next Monday, May 18, 2009, to proclaim from the “gates of hell” (The White House, the United States Congress, and the United States Supreme Court) that Jesus Christ is still Lord of this once great nation.

The theology of the Church house will become biography in the streets of Washington, D.C., on Monday, May 18.  The enemies of Christ are using “Hate Crimes” to silence our Christian voice.

“Though our President has recently announced that America is no longer a Christian nation;  Though our Congress is presently busying itself with “Hate Crimes” legislation, in an attempt to silence the Gospel of Christ and shut the mouths of those who would proclaim it;  Though our Supreme Court has sought to decriminalize every aberrant behavior known to man;  Though the FBI, BATF, CIA, the Justice Department,, consider us  terrorists; the Church of Jesus Christ will no longer remain a silent obsequious “little lamb” that has never found a cause for which it is willing to die.” Rev. Flip Benham, Director of Operation Save America.

We cannot and will not allow this satanic attack on the Word of God (Hate Crimes Bill) to go unchallenged.  We will encourage our United States Senators to stand with Jesus, the Church of Jesus Christ, our Pilgrim Forefathers, and our Founding Fathers and oppose this foul piece of legislation.  It was birthed in the very pit of hell.  HR 1913, the House version of the “Hate Crimes” bill, was passed by a 249 -175 vote.  It is now coming for a vote in the Senate as S.909.  President Obama wants to sign this into law before Memorial Day.

Our children will suffer greatly if we do not stand!  Yes, they will spend years in jail for speaking from the same Bible that we are able to speak freely from today.  Is there not a cause?

“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed.  If you will not fight when your victory shall be sure and not too costly.  You may come to a moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival.  There may be a worse case.  You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” Winston Churchill

January 29th, 2009 by Bethany French

On Thursday January 22, 2009 from 11:30-12:30, approximately one to two hundred people from different churches and pro-life organizations gathered at the intersection of Trade and Tryon in Charlotte, NC for a church service as a memorial for the unborn children who have been and continue to be killed under the guise of “a woman’s right to choose.” As part of the event, participants held up signs and passed out fliers educating the public on the reality of abortion. The signs included pictures of Malachi, an aborted baby of 21 weeks, and multiple children that were rescued from abortion due to the consistent efforts of those who minister weekly in front of the abortion clinics in Charlotte.

The square was full of mothers and fathers with their children, and many children were able to hand out fliers to those passing by. Everyone joined in the heartfelt prayer and worship, and listened as the speakers shared from their hearts about abortion, its impact on society, and the need to speak on behalf of those in the womb, who have no voice of their own.

The highlight of the service was the moving testimony of a woman who had recently decided to keep her baby because of the efforts and presence of OSA’s Flip Benham at the abortion clinic on Hebron St. in Charlotte. She had previously had 3 different abortions, and was on her way to have another baby killed after struggling for weeks with the decision, when she came under conviction by the words of Mr. Benham, and changed her mind. She is now going to the church of another passionate pro-life pastor in the city, Pastor Ronnie Wallace.  Following her story, Mr. Benham prayed for her to experience the love and goodness of Christ, and many who were present contributed funds to help her through this time, including a Charlotte businessman who was moved to stop, contributed to the fund, and stayed to talk with her and others afterward.  Hearing her story brought a response of compassion and rejoicing from the participants, and great encouragement to those who minister as sidewalk counselors in front of the abortion clinics in Charlotte.

In an interview following the memorial service, this woman said that after her third abortion, she had promised herself and God that she would never have another one.  She was filled with regret about the decision she had made to abort twins the last time, whom she called “a gift of God” that she should have treasured.  When she found herself pregnant for the fourth time, she was afraid of going through the pregnancy without the father or a support system of friends or family, and she made the heartbreaking decision to have another abortion.  However, right as she was walking into the doors of the abortion clinic on Hebron St, she heard the words of Flip Benham as he was ministering outside, later recalling that it was as if “he was speaking right to me.”  In response to his words, she started crying and turned back to talk with him.  Mr. Benham met her halfway, talked and prayed with her, and she changed her mind about having the abortion.  She said she felt like God had sent the sidewalk counselors there to the abortion clinic just for her.  Mr. Benham then introduced her to Pastor Wallace so she could get connected to a support system within the community.

What is the best thing that pro-life supporters can do to help the women who have chosen life, and are now facing difficult circumstances?  This woman said that what would help her most would be having people alongside her to listen, support her, and minister comfort, since she doesn’t have any support to speak of from the father, family or her friends.  Many of these women who have changed their minds about having an abortion are afraid and alone, and need the support of those who will get to know them, and care about them AND their child; friends, we can reach out in love and make a difference to these women who have chosen life!  We can support and bless those who out of a place of faith make the wonderful decision to keep their children, and be friends and family to those without them, simply by making ourselves available!  Let us join with our brothers and sisters who labor to be a voice for the unborn children, and friends and family to those who are being saved!
